Collective West Is Killing International Law

Saul’s Essay: [Part 1 of 2] How can we sill talk about human rights or laws of war if Israel on a daly basis kills civilians indiscriminately? How is it that the collective west keeps talking about the warcrimes of Russia, when Israel has killed more civilians in 2 months than Russia has killed in 2 years of warfare? Does international law have any value in a world where the weakest and most persecuted people get slaughtered with the knowledge and consent of the entire “civilised“ west? The abuse of international law and human rights is a sick joke and it has never been more obvious than now. I’m discussing the dire situation of the global international law regime with my guest, Saul Takahashi. Saul is a human rights lawyer who worked for 5 years in occupied Palestine, in the Westbank city of Ramallah, where he served as Deputy Head of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. Saul got his LLM in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex and later worked in the field in various positions around the globe. Today Saul is a Professor at the Osaka-based Jogakuin University. Recently, Saul published a forceful article in Aljazeera entitled “Gaza will be the grave of the Western-led world order” in which he thoroughly discusses the double-standards and hypocrisy of the current international system which includes international law. This is what we want to discuss today.
