Lonnie Mack - Where there’s a will

Song credits are () but acc. to the Notes for “Memphis Wham“ it’s a number which was recorded by the Five Blind Boys of Mississippi. In Lonnie’s hands it’s a gospelly soul ballad with the man himself on impassioned vocal lead. The song is present on the album, “Lonnie Mack: The Wham of that Memphis Man“ on the Fraternity label which was released in the US in 1964; in the UK it was released on the President label in 1967. In the UK the album contained 11 tracks, a mix of vocals and instrumentals. Ace Records (UK) put the selection in CD format out in 1995 with the track total increased to 24. Apart from Lonnie himself the band members who are pictured on the reverse sleeve of “The Wham of that Memphis Man“ are Marv Lieberman (sax), Ron Grayson (drums), Wayne Bullock (bass), Truman Fields (keyboards) and Irv Russotto (sax).
