Istanbul airport: at least 41 dead in terrorist attack

Turkey has declared a national day of mourning tomorrow in the wake of the triple suicide attack on Istanbul’s Ataturk airport. Forty-one people were killed and 239 others wounded when three men launched a co-ordinated assault. One man blew himself up outside, allowing two more to enter the airport, open fire on travellers and then trigger suicide vests. No-one has yet admitted responsibility, but the Turkish authorities suspect Islamic State militants.
