Emily Builds a Sailboat! RUDDER, SKIDS, & SKEG - CLC Eastport Nesting Pram (Ep 5)

Support this and other projects via our Patreon page: Over the next two months, Emily is building a lightweight wooden boat, which will be used as a sailing, rowing, and motoring dinghy for S/V Temptress. This model is an Eastport Nesting Pram (plans by Chesapeake Light Craft - ). It will weigh approximately 75 lbs, and be just under 8 feet long, made mainly of okoume. It is built using a “stitch and glue“ method. In this video, it’s time to hustle while we wait! The wood for the bulkheads will arrive from Chesapeake Light Craft this week, but we have many bench projects in the meantime - the rudder, daggerboard and trunk, skid, and skegs need to sanded, fitted, and coated with epoxy. Then we start attaching things to the hull! Clark is in the lab creating a homemade battery pack for the outboard, too.
