Mega Man X3 - Blizzard Buffalo Perfect Run (No Damage, Uncharged Buster-Only, No Upgrades)

Today, we take on our first Mega Man X3 Perfect Run with Blizzard Buffalo. This stage was an interesting one, all things considered. For starters, the ice physics here really don’t mess around. They’re so strong that trying to climb an upward slope is a near-impossible task. Also be sure to try not to run into a wall while walking on ice, as you’ll just bump off of it like at 1:35. The most frequent problem I encountered was getting hit by the rocket shooting enemy you see right at the beginning. While every appearance of them was annoying, the first four right at the start messed me up so many times, especially the second. There were several moments where it immediately fired as soon as it appeared on-screen, causing me to lose before I could even have a chance to react. There was also this moment at 0:42. At first, I couldn’t find a good way to get through it and thought that luck had to be on your side in order to avoid damage, but I realized that if you dash off of the first slope, keep running straight, and fire away, you’ll get through easily every time. Blizzard Buffalo is a pretty simple fight when you know how to deal with him. He’ll mainly just charge straight ahead to the opposite side of the room, turn around, and rinse and repeat. Because of this, you’ll want to run away, jump over him when he pauses, and shoot when he’s vulnerable. However, after you jump, don’t immediately run away again. Instead, stay close and only run away again if he starts moving toward you. It can be dangerous to run away as he may instead chuck three blocks of ice that’ll leave some obstacles for you to destroy. If you’re close to Buffalo, you can dodge the ice blocks with moderate ease by moving away after each one is thrown, but if you’re on the far side of the screen, prepare to either get smacked in the face or have the ice land on the wall above you, because he’s got some serious aim. While he didn’t use it in the video, he also has a move that he’ll start using when low on health where he fires a beam that’ll freeze you on contact. If you just stay away from it and hold onto the wall, you’ll be fine. Keep these things in mind, and Blizzard Buffalo will be a breeze. 🥁 (Also, I don’t know about anyone else, but I really like the X3 boss theme. There’s something about that short, grungy loop that I enjoy.) Created using WeVideo. The only thing belonging to me is the gameplay footage provided. Footage recorded January 14th, 2022.
