THE ENTIRE EPISODE WAS FANTASTIC BUT THOSE LAST LIKE, 5 MINUTES WITH THE CONFRONTATION IN FRONT OF THE PORTAL BROKE ME TO PIECES. The TENSION, the BUILD, the MUSIC, the VOICE ACTING ... I WAS CRYING WHILE MAKING THIS. I found this song just last night and I just knew this had to be done. It’s TOO fitting. And UGH the VOICEOVERS AND FLASHBACKS MAKE ME HURT but idk if this really did come out as emotional as I wanted it to be. I just need to get my feelings out. Because OMG, MABEL. PRECIOUS SWEET TRUSTING CHILD MABEL. I HAVE A BRAND NEW RESPECT FOR HER. I never took her very seriously as a character; she’s fun and provides great comedy, but I always liked Dipper better. BUT SEEING ALL OF IT COME DOWN TO MABEL’S DECISION-- IT WAS HER CALL. THAT POOR SWEET GIRL. HER TEARS. MY TEARS. ALL OF THE FANDOM’S TEARS. I still cannot get over that beautiful moment of truth. •This family is going to tear me APART. I knew from Land Before Swine and Dreamscaperers (where Stan earns Mabel’s and Dipper’s trust, each per episode) that that very trust would be tested someday. And the Taking Over Midnight scene from Scaryoke always has me grinning like an idiot and singing along because it’s JUST SO CUTE but I’ve known all along that it was all a set up for the let down of broken trust. Alex said Dipper and Mabel’s relationship would be tested in a way it had never been tested before. This is where it starts. He also said that Dipper feels incredibly betrayed by everyone, and that we’ll see where those feelings take him.. BUT NOT UNTIL THIS SUMMER.
