A Tall Story (1923)

A 450 feet tall steel wireless mast at Port Jefferson in the United States of America is featured in this story. We see the top of the mast being lifted by crane. The camera pans up from the bottom of the mast to the top where parts of the mast are being manoeuvred into place. A man stands on top of the mast waving his arms - presumably signalling where the part is to be moved. Intertitle reads: “Our Cameraman wasn’t satisfied with being on the earth, so he decided to investigate the trouble up above...“ M/S of the cameraman climbing up the side of the tower with his camera sung over his shoulder. M/S of two men working on the mast tightening screws. “Whattajob“ said our C.M. as he nearly fell overboard. “Reckon I’d better streak for home.“ So he did.“ Low angle shot from right underneath the radio mast looking up to the summit.
