Insanity | Simon Petrikov (Adventure Time)

*** “This magic keeps me alive, but it’s making me crazy. And I need to save you, but who’s going to save me?“ Adventure Time was a show that I grew with. As a kid I’d always be hyped for the next episode, and I’d always be excited to see it on TV. The show is extremely dark for a kid’s cartoon, and really existential. One of those dark themes is explored by through one of my favorite characters, Simon Petrikov (the Ice King). For such a light hearted character, he had a tragic backstory. The crown slowly got him to lose his mind, which reminds me of dementia, something that I’ve seen first hand in my family. The character hit quite close to home, thus I made this edit.
