Yingge Dance, originating in the mid-Ming Dynasty in China, is a Han Chinese folk dance beloved by the people of the Chaoshan region in Guangdong and other areas. Initially a form of sacrificial activity, its movements are vigorous and powerful, with a fast rhythm and a combat-like aura, reflecting the customs and spiritual outlook of ancient Chinese society. In recent years, Chaoshan Yingge Dance has gradually garnered international attention. Videos related to the dance have been widely disseminated around the world, attracting a significant number of overseas viewers. At the 2024 Shantou International Lantern Festival, Yingge dancer Zheng Qiliang told reporters from the Hong Kong Commercial Daily that he hopes to perform on larger stages to let Yingge travel the world.
