Getting to Know You - The King and I (1956 & 1992) - Julie Andrews
----------------------------------------------
“Getting to Know You“ is a from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, The King and I.
In the 1956 film version, it was sung by Marni Nixon, who dubbed Deborah Kerr at the time.
In 1992, a studio cast recording of the musical play was made, starring Julie Andrews as Anna and Ben Kingsley as the King.
I’ve always wondered how it would have looked like if they had actually replaced Marni Nixon’s voice with Julie’s. Turns out Marni dragged out pretty much everything, and Julie’s singing was much faster. So I had to adjust the video quite a lot.
It looks... strange.
