October 2, 1914 in Vladimir was born announcer of the All-Union Radio, the State Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting, People’s Artist of the Soviet Union, Yuri Borisovich Levitan. At the age of 17, Yuri Levitan came to Moscow with the hope of becoming a famous artist. He was not accepted to a film school because of his “okaachnye“ colloquialism. After the failure, Yuri Borisovich decided to try his luck where he would become famous throughout the world.
