Staged Bridge Assault - 1920 (1920)

Staged Bridge Assault - 1920. Eire ( Southern Ireland, Republic of Ireland ). British troops in action and ambush. All staged by British for benefit of cameramen. Some of this material may be genuine e.g. arrest of prisoners. (GEMMELL & STARMER ORIG. NEG.) M/S of country house. Soldiers go inside and search grounds. They come back out and put out fire burning outside the door. Pub (?) front - ’JR O’Connor’. A few people walk along street past the doorway. Troops search an open car. Man stands in the back with his hands on his head. Another stands outside the car with a dog in his arms. The people get back into the car. Soldiers come out of building and climb over sandbags to get into small, open trucks and drive off in clouds of dust. Soldiers march down muddy country lane, past old buildings.
