Telemann, “Sonate facile“, alto recorder, F major

(Texte français plus bas...) This recorder sonata is Telemann’s most famous. It has delighted thousands of students and horrified hundreds of teachers. From its popularity it might be called the “Easy Sonata“, in reference to ’s Piano Sonata No. 16, the “Semplice Sonata“, KV 545. Except that it is not easy to play at all, already by the presence of the high C in the last movement, a note which does not really exist and has been used to my knowledge only twice in baroque music for recorder; here and in a concerto for recorder ... by Telemann. --------------------------------------------------- Cette sonate pour flûte à bec est la plus célèbre de Telemann.
