French Crusader Song: Le Roy Louis

The song, recorded by the Joyeuse Garde choir, is based on a traditional tune that was popular in the 17th century, “La Fille au Roy Louis“, a song about the forbidden love between the daughter of King Louis IX and a knight named Déon. The Joyeuse Garde choir reuses this melody with new lyrics about the Crusades.
