Originally home to interior designer Cushla McFadden and her family of 4, McFadden’s mother now calls it home. Constructed from prefabricated panels, the striking exterior features two garage-like bi-folding doors that open onto the open-plan living, kitchen, dining and bathroom that hide behind a curved wall. A set of sliding doors on the opposite side of the room open directly only a closed deck, creating cross ventilation and adding to the expansive feel of the double volume space. A set of storage steps, which house the TV and the bulk of the studio’s storage, lead to an enclosed mezzanine bedroom that looks out onto the ocean through a large glass interior window.
