Sophie Student ignited the hot start for the Heels with the game’s opening goal in her first game back in Blacksburg since transferring to North Carolina. Caitlyn Wurzburger picked up a hat trick in the game, while Marissa White scored two. Reilly Casey totaled four assists in the win. For the Hokies, Olivia Vergano notched a hat trick of her own in the Tech comeback attempt.
