At times it is difficult to understand the spell the Russian language casts over Elisete but when she speaks and sings in Russian one hears her passion and emotion and feels the deep connection of her soul. It is then that reflections on color, ethnicity and mother tongue make way to the universal color of the soul. For the introduction to songs in Russian Elisete is grateful to Zemfira and her songs. The song Zvezda - Estrela was born by chance one summer day when Elisete that is an enthusiastic student of the Russian language took her daughter to the pool and started reading her textbook. She came across the words of a song that Vladimir Chuyevsky wrote in 1847 for the novel Gory, gory moya zvezda. She wrote the melody for the two verses from the book right there and then added two original verses in Portuguese that are not a translation but her interpretation of the song as she felt it. It’s fascinating to see how Elisete miraculously merges the joy and sadness of the Russian culture with her own heritage and her huge Brazilian heart to create music that comes from the heart and goes straight into the ears and hearts of her listeners. Elisete feels an international cultural ambassador, and in the song Zvezda - Estrela she continues that tradition creating a harmonious connection between the cultures of Russia, Brazil and Israel. The song is like Elisete: eclectic and colorful. It is electro-pop with a lot of soul and is the first in the Russian-Brazilian project. It was produced by Elisete and arranged by Raz Burg. Elisete is active in various musical fields and is in the final stages of producing her fourth acoustic album, she creates songs for her Russian-Brazilian project and writes lyrics in Portuguese for the new album of the American musician Hector Contreras. In addition to her music Elisete is striving to show Israel to the world in a positive way using her charm and multitude of languages. She performed in Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, Germany and the United States and is active in the social media both in music and in promoting the desire for peace in the region and the world. Recently she started a video blog in her YouTube Channel called ’Elisete in the morning’. In Israel Elisete performs with her variety of ensembles at various events and concerts.
