How to make a Japanese rice bag or komebukuro

Make a little drawstring bag with optional patchwork hand piecing. Inspired by a Japanese rice bag or komebukuro. The size of my squares for my bag, both outer and lining, are 5“ finished plus an extra good half inch for seam allowances. The cardboard template for the four patch squares measures 2 and a half inches, cut out your cloth adding a good quarter inch seam allowance all around. The two twiney ties are the circumference of the bag (4 x 5“ = 20“) plus 6“ or so extra to make knots etc so 26“ long.
