When those we love Those we hold dearly in our hearts and minds... Leave this earth, We have two choices. We can cry and grieve for months or years. Or we can dance. In the literal or the figurative tense. We can almost be sure that our loved ones who departed would want our joy much more than they would want our suffering. Entire cultures have understood this. And transformed grief into joy. This song, in fact, honors the memory of a grandmother, who is being remembered with salsa, flowers, colors and smiles. And i today want to give you, as well as those who are gone, the gift of joy, which lies in the same bed as grief. They are two sides of the same coin. When one is up, the other one sleeps.
