Paris Walking Tour – Le Marais [4K] – With Captions

Welcome to our narrated walking tour through the streets of Le Marais, in the heart of Paris. Although it has undergone transformation in recent decades, this historic district is still home to many buildings of historical and architectural importance. It is known for its many restaurants, museums as well as the very old residential buildings. After WWII, Le Marais was mostly a working-class neighborhood and most buildings were in a state of neglect. In the 1960s, André Malraux (France’s first Minister of Cultural Affairs, from 1958 to 1969) launched a program to clean the blackened façades of buildings in Paris. This intense renovation transformed Le Marais which became, once again, one of the most fashionable neighborhoods in Paris. Today’s walk start’s Boulevard Beaumarchais before immediately heading towards the Place des Vosges. Learn about the history of Paris while discovering it’s atmosphere during this relaxing walk.
