It was written in 1939 and is an informal anthem of the border and tank forces of the USSR and Russia. The song was first performed by Nikolai Kryuchkov in the movie “Tractor Drivers“ shortly after the battles on Khalkhin Gol, later it was performed by many famous performers and groups. According to legend (Laskin denies its truth), the crew from the song has a real prototype of the tank - this is the BT-7, which took part in the battles at Lake Khasan.
