Polish tango: Adam Aston - Serce matki, 1932

Adam Aston & Ork. dir. by Henryk Wars - Serce matki (Mother’s Heart) Tango (Karasiński, Kataszek - Szmaragd) Syrena-Electro 1932 (Polish) NOTE: This tango was one of the greatest hits in prewar Poland. It’s haunting melody, composed in 1932 by Zygmunt Karasiński and Szymon Kataszek - two renowned composers and pioneers of jazz in the Roaring 20s in Poland - and its poignant lyrics, to this day enjoy a well-deserved popularity. It was also one of favorite songs of my Mother’s. Today, on the day of the 15th anniversary of her death, I am presenting this clip, which is devoted to the memory of Klara - my beloved mother and a beautiful, strong and clever woman.
