’Somebody else can do the rest of it’, Queen quips as she cuts cake to mark Platinum Jubilee

A former cookery student who helped create the original recipe for coronation chicken was hosted by the Queen at Sandringham House on the eve of the 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne. Angela Wood, who helped create the recipe in celebration of the start of the Queen’s reign, was among members of local volunteer groups invited to Sandringham by Her Majesty. These included members of the local branch of the Women’s Institute, Sandringham Estate pensioners and their families, and representatives from local charities Little Discoverers and West Norfolk Befriending.
