Scots On Parade (1945)

Unissued / unused material. Surrender of Germany. L/S planes flying over buildings. M/S British officer saluting. Officer inspects American troops in street. Crowds of soldier sit watching from windows and heaps of rubble. Officer then inspects sailors and a regiment of Scots soldiers in kilts. More aeroplanes fly overhead. Scottish bagpipers lead march past of infantry and tanks through streets. The senior officer stands on platform taking salute. L/S warship. M/S Scots regiment marching through street. Various shots showing captured German officers handing the ammunition from their pistols to a Scottish officers. The two most senior officers then walk up to a platform and hand over their pistols to another Scottish officer. They salute each other, it’s all very formal.
