Rose Petal Cigarettes (1959)

Commercial Road, London. L/S cigarette making machine, operated by Harry Durrance working near to it with another man in the background pulling a trolley. He adjusts a lever, M/S various mechanical parts and eventually a huge long roll of an endless cigarette can be seen coming out of the machine. The man gathers a long length of the cigarette roll. M/S of the cigarette cutting machine with cigarettes coming out and dropping onto a conveyor belt. Nancy Silverman is seen expertly hand rolling cigarettes from a heap of tobacco in front of her, and pushing them through a tube. Pan to the rolled cigarettes, and she picks one up to trim the ends with scissors. C/U shot of deep red roses in a vase, pan to Elizabeth Millen working. She takes a rose from the vase and pulls off the petals. She sorts them and uses a special cutter to cut rose petal strips. She smooths one out and then wraps it around the gold tipped cigarette.
