Antonov An-225 Mriya - Largest Airplane in the World (INSANE CLOSE 4K) / Space Shuttle Carrier

Antonov AN 225 Mriya - The Largest Airplane in the World. The Antonov 225, better known as the Mriya (Ukrainian for “dream“) was designed to carry a space shuttle. It is a cargo aircraft that was designed by the Soviet Union’s Antonov Design Bureau in the 1980s. It is powered by six turbofan engines. Measuring 84 meters long with an 88 meters wingspan it is the longest and heaviest airplane ever built, with a maximum takeoff weight of 640 tonnes. It’s the longest-bodied, longest-winged and heaviest operational plane in the world. The Antonov 225 exceeds the size of the world’s largest passenger jet, which is Airbus A380, in fuselage length and the wingspan. Antonov-225 Mriya was destroyed in February 2022. Antonov Design Bureau have vowed to rebuild the aircraft. The Antonov 225 Mriya is considered the world’s largest in terms of size and capacity. If it were to made into a passenger jet, it would have broke the record of the A380 long before A380 was even planned. UR-
