Viking Food and Cooking (Outdoor Cooking) Learning Made Fun

warriors and valiant explorers, all the way from the unforgiving, rough shores of Scandanavia. But what did these hardy people eat on a day to day basis and how did they prepare it? In today’s video, we will explore the diet of a Viking and how they prepared their meals. Did you know that contrary to popular belief most Vikings were not warriors. In fact most Vikings were actually farmers. They grew vegetables, fruit and cereals and looked after animals for eggs, milk, cheese and meat. Vikings also hunted animals for meat such as rabbits and deer. But the meat they ate most was fish. Most Vikings lived near the ocean so they often fished for meat. Viking also made bread but they did not bake it in ovens. Instead the squashed it into a pancake like shape and cooked it on an open fire in a skillet or pot. To preserve their meat the salted it or smoked it. This removed the moisture to prevent it from rotting for longer. Music Music: 1. Title: Vibe With Me by Joakim Karud Genre and M
