Connaught Rangers Aldershot (1910-1919)

Two men cross finishing line almost simultaneously, both are from same team, the Connaught Rangers. CU the two winners posing pose with arms round each other. There wear shirts with letters “C - R“ and little crown emblem on. Note October 2011: A visitor to the site has provided some more information about one of the figures featured. the soldier on the right of the final shot is Sgt Frank O’Neill. He was the first non-English person to win the AAA 10 mile championship. He served with the 2nd Battalion Connaught Rangers and the Munster Fusiliers. He was wounded and rescued from no mans land by the Germans in WW1, spending much of the war as a POW. FILM ID:
