Yoko Ono Screaming at Art Show! (Original)

FOR LYRICS TURN ON CAPTIONS! (seriously) This is the first independent upload of a Voice Piece for Soprano & Wish Tree. This was filmed at the Museum of Modern Art. I first got word of this performance the day that it was filmed and called MoMA to ask if I may upload the video. The staff I spoke to gave me explicit permission to do so. (I wish I had gotten it in writing because I had no idea it would receive so much attention and YouTube has changed a lot in the last decade). I created a new title, and also added subtitles of “lyrics“ which were attached below, but later I transcribed them over the video. This comedic take on the performance, the hours it took to transcribe phonetically accurate lyrics and subtitles, the subtitles themselves, and the optimized video title are my own work, which - in combination with the video - creates a transformative work of commentary/comedy/education. To be frank, I spent more time on the subtitles than could have possibly been taken to edit the original video, and I have tested the most searchable title, as well as cultivated an audience over the last decade to ensure that this performance remains in the public consciousness. I am going to add more content to this channel. If - when I reapply for monetization - it is not granted, then I will most likely have to remove this video, despite the tremendous amount of time and effort that I’ve spent promoting, editing, and engaging in building an audience and image around this performance. I was given full permission to use this video, but as I said, things have changed a lot in the last 10 years and unfortunately I did not get this permission in writing nor did I think to write down the name of the MoMA representative that I talked to. It’s a bit hazy now, since I thought nothing of it at the time. Another note: There is this fad called “yokoroll“, “yokorolling“, or “yokoroll’d“ (yokorolled?) which was not something I anticipated and I find it hilarious! Basically this video of Yoko Ono screaming/singing, or performing her “art“ is sent to unwitting recipients just like Rick Astley’s music video for “Never Gonna Give You Up“ (called: rickroll, rickrolling, rickroll’d, etc.). Yokoroll your friends! I love seeing the comments from people just baffled that they got this instead of a cooking video or whatever they were expecting. Thanks again everyone! Yoko Ono will not let it be, and neither will I. She has inspired me to be annoying for the rest of my life. Thank you Mama Yoko! #Yokoono #Yoko #Ono #MoMA #Beatles #PerformanceArt #Screaming
