The goats’ favorite day of the year!

Feast Today after yoga we took down the fence protecting the sunflowers, and after months of watching them grow the goats finally got to eat them! What if we saw life as a feast meant to be savored? Goats feast daily on the best Hay gathered and stored just for them and choice treats they find along the way: a maple leaf, the perfect twig of Evergreen, on sunshine warm on their back and cold clean water as if it is the tastiest creation on earth. They feast on the warm attention of others. A hand on their back, a lap to lay their head, fingers offering a chin scratch. They feast on the scents of sunflowers bowing their heads in the fall, the sound of the stream running swift behind the barn, the comfort of each other. They hardly ever delay satisfaction, instead enjoying everything that life has to offer as it’s offered. And at their invitation I promise myself I’ll do the same.
