Interned Sailors At Gronigen (1914-1918)

Interned Sailors at Gronigen, Holland / Netherlands. Germans prisoners of war lined up in street; w/ guards (Dutch?) watching. One guard walks along holding a young prisoner by the hand! Leading him to his place in line I guess but as they pass camera they both grin; and it looks like they’re on a date. Prisoners larking about at camp: the sailors are pushing & shoving in a playful way; several of them get on each other’s shoulders and have fights on piggyback; trying to pull a guy off the top of another’s shoulders; barracks building in BG; long low white building w/ 2 on front. The POW sailors are now playing leap frog; a guard w/ rifle stands at side. Recreation. sports; fun. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
