Baby Kangaroo Rescued An Thousands Made From Opal Fossicking!

It’s not every day rain falls in our small corner of the world, but when it does it’s time to fossicking. With news that rain was on the horizon myself and my sister Elaura head to the opal fields to meet up with Noah to fossick for Opals. On our way we made the sad discovery of a mother kangaroo hit by a car and the Joey left abandons in the pouch. We stopped and I managed to remove the baby, we turned the car around and drove the 100kms to the nearest town with a wildlife carer Wilcannia. After dropping him off we made our way back to unfortunately to late to begin fossicking. Noah however had a busy day and found some fantastic gemstone! The next day we set out as a team an managed to find a few nice bits and pieces as well as an old bottle with a marble inside. I spent the afternoon cutting and rubbing the opals and some turned up quite nice, some didn’t make at all and some I still need to consider how to proceed before I finish them all up. All
