HOW TO INSTALL “INCOMPATIBLE” SOFTWARE, DRIVERS OR ANY OLD PACKAGES ON MacOS Catalina (Tutorial)

Before you comment : after the “ sudo mount -uw / “ command, Terminal will ask your password to confirm. Terminal does not show the keystrokes, this is normal, just type the password and press enter. Ever had this error while trying to install something on macOS Catalina () ? “This package is incompatible with this version of macOS. The package is trying to install content to the system volume. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.“ In this video I’m showing you a workaround I’ve found that allows you to install older drivers or softwares that are not officially compatible with Catalina. Once you are done installing, you can re enable SIP by booting in recovery mode again and using the command « csrutil enable » in terminal. The read-only overriding command does not survive reboots so it is re enabled automatically when you restart your computer. Please note : I’m not responsible for any issue you might cause to your computer by doing this. This has been tested working on several machines though. I’ve been able to install drivers for my old Novation Launchpad MK1 which is no longer getting updated drivers from the manufacturer. I’ve also had success installing drivers for Native Instrument’s Audio 2 DJ Soundcard, and many others. Thanks for watching !
