The Berlin Celebrations - 1989

This video montage celebrates the fall of Berlin Wall 20th anniversary (November 9, 1989). On November 11, 1989, Mstislav Rostropovich gave a impromptu performance (J. S. Bach Prelude from Suite No. 1) at the Berlin Wall as demonstrators tore it down, a show that was reported around the world. Later the cellist was rehabilitated by then Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, and he was able to return to Russia to perform.
