It’s been a couple years since Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi graced the airwaves with new iterations of their gauzy hip-hop that dominated the mid 2010s. Remember how funny it was watching people try to mimic Swae’s impossibly high falsetto to no avail? Filled with dazed bangers such as “No Type” and “Come Get Her,” the brother duo’s 2015 debut ‘SremmLife’ was so impactful on club and hip-hip culture that on the following year’s ‘SremmLife 2’ they dubbed themselves the Black Beatles. The confidence was warranted, as that track rose to the top of the Billboard charts. By the time ‘SR3MM’ came around in 2018, A-listers such as Travis Scott, Young Thug, and The Weeknd were lined up for a shot at a platinum feature.
