Hangout at Grillby’s [Undertale 3D Animation feat. Sans and Frisk]

Frisk is at a loss, they don’t know what to do with their deliciously contaminated spaghetti. Now that the barrier is open with everyone slowly transitioning to the surface, they want to perfect the spaghetti they have “cooked“ with Papyrus and their monster friends. After much back and forth, they can’t help but feel like something’s missing. However, a certain punny skeleton seems to have a solution to this problem... The man who has been cursed (or blessed) by the internet, finally got his own animation!! I have been holding off on Sans on purpose since he gets the most attention in the fandom, and also because I wanted to give the other monsters their time to shine first before I conclude this series with him. Despite his simple design, Sans was a lot of work to model since I wanted to add some detail to his clothes (and some cheesy references hehe). I also wanted to keep him cartoony and expressive like the rest of the bunch, so I constantly pulled up my other UT models like Papyrus and placed them side by side to make sure they work alongside each other in terms of style. I also recorded a full timelapse of my modeling process, which I am planning to edit sometime in the next few months so you can watch how he was made. Oh, and there are a few more characters I couldn’t help but model for this, since I wanted For this animation, I figured Grillbys would work nicely as a location since this is where we get to see Sans wind down and interact with Frisk in-game, so I wanted to make a sort of callback to that scene. It’s supposed to take place after the pacifist run, when most monsters still remain Underground but slowly begin to transition onto the surface, which is why the previous animation took place on the surface, whereas this one is still set in Snowdin. I ended up tweaking the rendering look a whole lot since I wasn’t happy with the quality of the eevee lighting in my first couple of attempts, but I’m hoping it’s gotten up to a level of polish that is on par with those other couple of animations.
