Francis J. “Frank“ DiNunzio Sr. (1913--2005) enjoyed a musical career that spanned seven decades, playing with countless bands, most notably the German Band at Hersheypark for 32 years. He also played for Eddie Kohr, Artie Zeller’s Hotel Weimer Band, Ira Bowman’s Society Band, Merry Maker’s, Lebanon Valley College Symphony, Reg Kehoe Band, Larry Clinton, Tony Pastor, Jimmy Dorsey, Charlie Spivak, the Joe Venuti Band, the New York City Roxy-ettes and the Perry Como Band. DiNunzio’s first business was as owner of “DiNunzio’s Shoe Repair Shop“ in Annville, Pennsylvania in the 1930s, but from the 1940s he also owned and managed several restaurants, including “DiNunzio’s Restaurant“ in Hershey, which he operated from 1968 to 1979.
