Residents of Peru border town push away army troops

A group of Peruvian soldiers that disembarked from a helicopter near the border town of Desaguadero scuffled with residents angry with their presence. The town, located on the Bolivian border, has blocked roads as part of the anti-government protests that demand the resignation of President Dina Boluarte. In recent weeks, the army and national police had taken over the main highways to dismantle blockades and permit transit, but many roads are still blocked.
