Life in the coldest place on Earth - Oymyakon, Russia

I spent a week in #Oymyakon, a remote town in Russia’s Siberia which is deemed to be the world’s coldest inhabited place. The lowest recorded temperature here was -72°C or -96°F. Luckily for us, when we got to Oymyakon it was only… -51°C or -60°F and I never felt THAT cold in my entire life! Watch how people brave one of the world’s most frigid and inhospitable environments as we embark on a journey to Oymyakon – the coldest place on our planet where people live all year round. In Part 2 I explore Tomtor, the biggest village in Oymyakon region where people dig out the thick ice on a river to get drinking water. I also carried out a few experiments out in the freezing cold and turned my socks into proper boomerangs.
