Earning several automotive awards including North American Car of the Year, the attraction of its retro styling started to fade over the next few years, and sales slipped each year, despite the addition of a higher-performance GT version in 2003, and a convertible in 2005. It ended production in 2010, with its once-loved retro look now largely reviled, and often being on lists of the worst cars ever made.
