In the Spring of 1988 Metropolitan Pavlos appeared on the Oprah Winfrey program. Though he was originally scheduled to be on the panels sitting on stage, he arrived too late (due to his flight being delayed) and was seated in the audience. Though his appearance was brief he powerfully articulated the Orthodox postion regarding the unfortunate film “The Last Temptation of Christ“.
