Repairing a Cylinder Barrel for BIG D11 Bulldozer! | Machining, Welding & Honing

We’re about to inject some fresh steel into this cylinder barrel off a massive D11T bulldozer! This isn’t your average DIY project. This cylinder barrel is part of a key hydraulic component off a Caterpillar D11T bulldozer blade, responsible for tilting the heavy chunk of blade forward and backwards and also tilting the blade left and right. Watch the power of machining as we disassemble the old damaged barrel before transforming a plain steel tube into the perfect new barrel courtesy of our trusty lathe. Then with the help of a trusty welding torch and a steady hand we’ll weld the new barrel to the cylinder head flange before using our Sunnen horizontal honing machine to hone the new barrel to precision spec. We continue the job by fitting, aligning and tacking the barrel end to the newly honed barrel before some more flawless welding to complete the repair! In this video we are using: - Hafco TM-26120G Centre Lathe - WIA 500i Weldmatic welder - Sunnen HTA-4100 Horizontal hone
