Fanny Power from The Celtic Lute by Ronn McFarlane

Turlough O’Carolan composed “Fanny Power“ as a tribute to Frances Power, the daughter of patrons David and Elizabeth Power. While the song’s title takes on a unique connotation in the modern era, O’Carolan referred to Fanny as “the Swan of the Shore,“ apparently holding her in quite high regard. This is another tune which has been popularized throughout the ages and recorded by various Celtic and Folk performers in the 20th century.
