Inside U2’s Sphere Residency in Las Vegas | Apple Music

On September 29, U2 kicked off their first Las Vegas residency, U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere, a new, state-of-the-art dome in the Venetian Resort outfitted with Dolby Atmos technology and one of the world’s highest-resolution wraparound LED screens. The multi-sensory show—centered on one of the Irish band’s most personal and critically acclaimed albums, 1991’s ’Achtung Baby’, delivers more than mind-blowing audiovisuals. “We can achieve intimacy at a level that we could never, whilst playing to 10,000 or 18,000 people,” Bono tells Zane Lowe. “We work very hard to achieve that intimacy in arenas. We work very hard to achieve that in a stadium or a festival. But here, the building’s made to work for the audience, it’s made to work for us.” Ahead of the first show, Bono & the Edge caught up with Zane Lowe for an exclusive peek inside the venue.
