BABY Alligator Calls for Mom!

When we collected Crystal’s eggs a few weeks ago, we only found five eggs when she normally lays around 40. We weren’t sure what happened. Evidently Crystal tried to fake us out and made a 2nd nest somewhere else in the habitat. Today I watched her crawl out of the pond, grab a baby in her mouth, come back to the water and release it to swim freely out of her mouth- some National Geographic stuff right in front of me. One of the coolest things I’ve seen in all my years working with animals.
