Written by Helen Miller & Roger Atkins in January of 1965, this song was immediately grabbed up by Jerry Wexler at Atlantic records for Patti Labelle, but contract disputes delayed Pattie from signing with Atlantic for so long that Jerry finally gave the song to Barbara who was hot on the charts that summer with “Baby I’m Yours.“ “Make Me Your Baby“ was released in September and went on to become a huge hit for her.
