Cet orchestre des ténèbres a connu des débuts modestes : à l’origine, il s’agissait du projet en solo de Chris Harms intitulé « Lord ». Après un changement de nom pour éviter toute confusion avec Lordi, vainqueurs du concours de l’Eurovision, le chanteur natif de Hambourg a progressivement rassemblé autour de lui un véritable ensemble orchestral.
