SOLD: Custom made BBb Cimbasso / Contrabass Trombone

Great custom made BBb Cimbasso with 4 rotary valves. This instrument was made by Tim Sullivan. The valve section is from a Miraphone tuba (probaby an 86 model) and the bell is from a Olds marching euphonium. The cimbasso was first created and owned by Tim Sullivan who then sold it to Patrick Votrian (a famous tuba-player who lives in the Netherlands). Patrick Votrian told me that he used the instrument on various recordings of the Kyteman orchestra and also during shows with “de Kift”. That time, the instrument also got a main tuning slide trigger which can be adjusted with the left thumb. This allows for quick tuning adjusting. The instrument is very well built and in great shape. All valves and slides are easily moveable and most importantly, silent. The instrument has a great sound, very powerful when you put the right energy in it. Included with the Cimbasso is a stand (which works perfectly) and a Helleberg copy mouthpiece (due to the V shape, the instrument sounds sharper). SOLD. Similar instruments and many more at
