Nvidia RTX 4090 Gameplay Review - A MONSTER GPU... (18 games tested)

My first gameplay of Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card brick. ASUS TUF 4090 and PALIT GameRock 4090 test. PC specs: Intel Core i9-12900K processor, 32GB DDR 4800MHz RAM, ROG Maximus Z690 Hero motherboard, Seasonic PRIME 1300W Platinum PSU, Windows 11. Thanks for ASUS and PALIT for sending these RTX 4090 review samples. I will be sending them back at some point. RTX 4090 Unboxing All unboxing videos Click to Subscribe! First they contacted me apparently about sending the RTX 4090 Founders Edition for an unboxing review. Then they went silent and after few weeks it was already sent to someone else. Luckily ASUS and PALIT sent their RTX 4090 for review, both of which I will be returning afterwards. Nvidia’s main selling point with 40 series seems to be new DLSS 3.0 aka DLSS Frame Generation. This boosts frame rates in supported games and can be used together with DLSS 2.0 aka DLSS Super Resolution. They told me they will be “upset“ if I don’t include any DLSS 3.0 games in this review. There’s not many to include as less than 10 games have DLSS 3.0 support officially at the moment. Those are: Bright Memory: Infinite Justice ‘Fuyun Court’ New Graphics Showcase Loopmancer Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered SUPER PEOPLE (3 more titles will be available very soon) These games will have DLSS 3.0 support available at some point: A Plague Tale: Requiem Atomic Heart Black Myth: Wukong Bright Memory: Infinite Chernobylite Conqueror’s Blade Cyberpunk 2077 Dakar Desert Rally Deliver Us Mars Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed Dying Light 2 Stay Human F1Ⓡ 22 .: Forged In Shadow Torch Frostbite Engine HITMAN 3 Hogwarts Legacy ICARUS Jurassic World Evolution 2 Justice Loopmancer Marauders Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered Microsoft Flight Simulator Midnight Ghost Hunt Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Naraka: Bladepoint NVIDIA Omniverse NVIDIA Racer RTX PERISH Portal with RTX Ripout . 2: Heart of Chornobyl Scathe Sword and Fairy 7 SYNCED The Lord of the Rings: Gollum The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt THRONE AND LIBERTY Tower of Fantasy Unity Unreal Engine 4 & 5 Warhammer 40,000: Darktide The DLSS 3.0 performance is really impressive in Cyberpunk 2077. I got roughly 120-150FPS with 4K, Ray Tracing Ultra, DLSS 2.0: Performance, DLSS 3.0 ON settings. When you turn all DLSS OFF I got about 30-40FPS. It really depends on which area you’re in and what you’re doing in-game. I started to feels dizzy after turning all DLSS off. The difference is day and night. Same with Marvel’s Spider-Man, the game runs beautifully on 4K max settings with DLSS 2.0 DLSS 3.0 toggled on. It’s smooth even with Ray Tracing on. Very enjoyable gaming experience. However in Spider-Man the difference between DLSS ON/OFF is not as huge as in Cyberpunk. Still an enjoyable experience even without DLSS. As of now, these RTX 4090 GPUs are quite expensive at launch and also sold out. I don’t recommend buying one right now with these inflated prices. Unless you really, really need it for your work, then who knows, maybe. But even then, I’d wait for the stock situation to get better and prices coming down closer to MSRP at least. I’d also wait for rest of 40 series and also AMD’s new GPUs to be revealed and reviewed. Stock for these 4090 cards seems to have been insanely low at launch so they obviously sold out immidiately and were listed on eBay. There should be more coming soon. It’s a very powerful, a monster, GPU indeed but hardly any games support DLSS 3.0 for now. You can use this fancy Frame Generation feature in less than % of all PC games. They have no plans adding DLSS 3.0 on any Call of Duty or Battlefield games - at least nothing has been announced. Fortnite doesn’t have DLSS 3.0 and no plans have been announced. So far the DLSS 3.0 Frame Generation supported games list is minimal but hopefully will grow fast.
