african drum robot playing soli and takosaba

This is my african dunun robot. This electronic friend plays the melody on the 3 dununs while i can concentrate on playing the djembe patterns. After making a midi file, the midi-player or laptop sends the midi information to a decoder to finally drive the electric drumsticks. Getting the idea was more easy than building it. Specially finding the drumstick-actuators, making no noise, consuming not too much power and responding quickly enough was timeconsuming.
